The Presentation

A DX non-cutaway Presentation with inlaid Tor-tis pickguard, 45 style abalone trims and an inlaid bridge.

Here is a custom Brazilian rosewood headstock with my alternate banner style and a flying lady inlay of engraved pearl and three kinds of abalone.

The Presentation is the top of the line Greven guitar. Nothing but the very best of everything goes into each one and they are totally customized to be one-of-a-kind guitars. The Brazilian rosewood DX shown to the left has the birds on the fingerboard with a multi-inlay castle at the base of the neck over the body. A winged cherub and birds are inlaid into the Tor-tis pickguard and bird inlays are featured on the custom shaped bridge.

Abalone trim in the 45-style appoints the body; around the top, back, sides, rosette, fingerboard, end-pin wedge and neck joint. A true collector piece that also sounds and plays great!

The J-Presentation shown below has a repro of the Maurer fingerboard inlays. They are all hand cut from various pearls, green abalone, red abalone and snail, then engraved. A word of caution, as George Harrison discovered on his custom Greven dobro (see Home Page), an elaborate fingerboard pattern can make playing more difficult as there are few reference points to mark the important frets! George put a band-aid on the 12th fret as a reminder.
