The OM & 000 "Grand Auditoriums"

An OM Herringbone Deluxe in Indian rosewood. This one has the optional large pickguard instead of the small teardrop..

I make 12 fret and 14 fret 000 and OM bodies depending on whether you want a short scale, long scale, stoop shoulders or not. I also build 00 body sizes on special order, both in 12 and 14 fret configurations. Call for more information.

The OM pictured to the left is a 14-fret version of the 000 body size, but with the longer 25.4 inch scale length, hence the OM designation. I prefer the sound of the longer scale OM set up with light strings to the short scale 000 with mediums as it has more power and takes less effort to set the sound in motion. The tone is a little more articulate as well.

The OM-12 fret pictured below in lacewood is one of my favorites for both sound and looks. The lacewood, while hard to find, is an exceptional tone wood, possessing the best of both mahogany and rosewood in overall sound. In addition, lacewood has a wonderful punch to it.

For a look at another 14 fret version of the OM, check out the White Lady on the White Lady page.

This is the back of a 12-fret OM in Lacewood.
